Santa surfing - Travel

How of many of us know that since 2009, Cocoa Beach, Florida has hosted Surfing Santas, in which guys and gals don costumes resembling ole Saint Nick and hit the waves on Christmas Eve day.

Last year alone, this event included 600 Santas surfing and 10,000 spectators coming out for the fun. This year, event organizers are hoping to draw even larger crowds and more Santas.

There will be a stage on the beach for live music and Santa and Mrs.Claus will be out and about on the beach to give away candy canes. Santa will also offer a free surf lesson before the big show of all the Santa surfers. To round out all those Santas, people can expect longboarding elves, paddleboarding toy soldiers, and several shortboarding Frosty the Snowmen. Even the Grinch will make an appearance in full costume to take photos with the crowds.

This entire event purpose is align with causes that they want to support and they have been raising fund for it as well

The holiday bonanza is for a good cause, and since it's inception, the fest has raised over $130,000 for two local non-profits, Grind for Life, which helps with financial assistance for cancer patients, and the Florida Surf Museum.
